Subject: Organization Announcement

As many of you know when we formed the UUS Program Office a short time ago we announced that Cissy Grebowski, VP Simply Unum Program had accepted a new role as head of the Customer Contact Centers reporting to Tom Thompson. We also announced that Cissy would continue in a dual role for a period of time and have since defined that timeframe taking us through the National Rollout of Simply Unum.

Since then I've been searching for a candidate to fill the SU Program Manager position after Cissy's transition. I've been partnering with Cissy, Tom Thompson, Andrea Gordon and others on further defining the skills and requirements for the SU Program Manager role going forward. I'm sure it's no surprise to many of you that there is still a great deal of work to be accomplished for Simply Unum 1.0 such as Completion of the Model, incorporation of Marketplace feedback and adjustments, implementation of state approvals, completion of the VB Conversion effort and finally the Group Migration strategy and execution. In addition, Andrea Gordon has been leading a team focused on Simply Unum 2.0 strategy and design which will help determine other segment opportunities to ensure we fully achieve the UUS Growth Strategy on this platform. Both of these efforts will continue to need a highly effective cross-functional Program Manager for years to come to ensure we continue with the kind of success that we've seen to date under Cissy's leadership working with so many areas across the company.

To support this critical program going forward, I'm extremely pleased to announce that Stacy Gray has accepted the role of Assistant Vice President, Simply Unum Program reporting to me in the UUS Program Office. Stacy has served as the Assistant Vice President of Voluntary Marketing Communications for Unum US since May 2006. Her ten+ years of experience with the company also include employee communications, community relations, public relations and advertising. Stacy has also been actively engaged in our Voluntary Practice and that experience will serve her well in this new role.

Stacy received her Bachelor of Arts in Communication from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and her Masters in Public Relations from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. Her current community interests including developing a local chapter of the American Marketing Association and serving as an active alumnae of her local university. Stacy lives in Chattanooga with her husband Erik (also a Unum employee), son Rigby (age 4) and daughter Lucy (age 2). Stacy enjoys spending time with her family, reading, traveling, cooking, gardening and appreciating all forms of music (including that of the Beatles, as evidenced by her choice of names for her children).

Stacy will be working closely with Cissy over the next several months to learn all the components of the Program Manager role and to ensure an effective smooth transition. Please join me in congratulating Stacy on this new role and welcoming her to the UUS Program Office.
